Negotiations in business can be like a game of chess. For those who have never played, chess is a game of strategy and positioning your pieces on the board.
When I was a new business owner I had a terrible habit of waiting to negotiate price until after the job was already done.
Part of this was because I had a fear of losing business.
The other part of this came about because I had no idea how to price my services.
As I stated in an earlier episode I just started my first business on a whim, without any prior research or due diligence.
I thought just knowing how to do the job was all I needed to run a successful business.
In this episode I discuss strategies for negotiating and things to keep in mind when meeting with clients.
